When you try to better a four card hand in Badugi, it is quite unlike drawing for a three card hand. Obviously, if you are already holding a hand with four cards, you will need to decide on whether you should split it or not, and the number of your outs depends on the strength of your current hand.
The decision to split or not a four card hand in Badugi is a difficult one. You have to consider how strong your opponents’ hand is; if you think it is a very strong hand, then it is easier for you to decide on splitting your hand. If your hunch is that it is a feeble hand, it might be the right decision to split your hand. Your decision has to be based on your opponents’ actions, how strong is your current four card hand, also what odds you have of bettering your hand.
